This course on autism awareness and the autistic spectrum disorders will equip staff members with the essential knowledge of the definitions, history and demographics of the disorder. It will also explore with the staff the associated characteristics, abilities, symptoms and some of the challenges that are potentially faced when caring and supporting for individuals. It will also highlight some examples of good healthcare practices and some of the negative experiences and stereotypes that are applied to individuals with autism.
Max Delegates: This course is open to everybody. Maximum 15 delegates per course.
Course Duration: The Face-to-Face sessions are a half day of in person training and run from either 9:00am to 1:00pm, or 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The Virtual sessions are 3 hours of remote training, the timings for which are to be determined once booked.
